Fred Weiss moved his family to Greeley in 1915 and opened a small jewelry store in downtown Greeley. He taught two of his sons, Howard and Gene, the fine art of precision watch making; a skill which has become almost non-existent. During World War II, Howard worked on precision instruments for the Army Air Force. Howard returned to Greeley and purchased a small downtown jewelry store. In 1974, he moved the store to a 3,200 square foot facility, which more than doubled the previous square feet.

In 1984, Howard’s son Rich re-entered the business where today he operates the family business with the help of a knowledgeable, trained staff.

After a 32 year period the store was moved four (4) miles west to 955 52nd Ave. Ct.  The new store embodies a rich cherry wood interior that takes us back to earlier times.  The attention to detail and the woodworkers craftsmanship are evident in every "nook" and "cranny".  The store is unlike any jewelry store found in Northern Colorado and provides a unique shopping experience for Weiss' clientele.

With the roots of Weiss Jewelers firmly entrenched in the community, the store continues to explore new and exciting technology which provides its customers with the finest in jewelry, timekeeping, and customer service.

Our mission statement is: Building on the past with a commitment to the future.
